Long Island Lutheran, Link Academy Compete for Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament Championship

The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders and the Link Academy Lions will compete in the Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament championship. The Crusaders continue their improbable run that led them from the play-in round to the title game.
New York’s top-ranked team in the On3 Composite Team Rankings defeated Oak Hill Academy in the play-in last March 5. The following day, they pulled off a victory against Brewster Academy, New Hampshire’s top ranked team.
In their last game, the Crusaders defeated Arizona’s CIA Bella Vista 58-52. It was a tightly fought contest as no team led by more than eight points. However, the Bears could come up with a run that will put Long Island Lutheran away.
Syracuse commit Kiyan Anthony led the way for the Crusaders with 16 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Dylan Mingo contributed 14 points, five rebounds, and three steals, while Kayden Mingo finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists.
Nico Onyekwere had four blocks to go with nine points in this Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament game. His defense anchored the Crusaders’ 18 points off turnovers and limiting CIA to 33 percent shooting in the final quarter.
