Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.) edges Brewster Academy (N.H.) in the Nike EYBL Scholastic Tournament

The Long Island Lutheran Crusaders are having an impressive run in the 2025 Nike EYBL Scholastic Conference Tournament. After defeating Oak Hill Academy in yesterday’s play-in game, they edged Brewster Academy to reach the tournament semifinal.
After scoring only nine points in the third quarter, the Crusaders converted 77.8 percent of their field goal attempts in the final quarter to secure a 58-52 victory over New Hampshire’s top-ranked boys basketball team.
In addition to their hot shooting, Long Island Lutheran collected ten points off turnovers and tallied 11 second chance points. The Crusaders also won the rebound battle 31-23 and had two more steals (5-3) than the Bobcats.
Syracuse signee Kiyan Anthony paced the Crusaders with 20 points, to go with nine rebounds. Meanwhile, Penn State commit Kayden Mingo finished with 19 points, three rebounds, and three steals.
These highly touted prospects negated Brewster Academy’s balanced attack, led by junior Sebastian Wilkins with 13 points. Iowa State commit Kilian Toure and Stanford signee Ebuka Okorie added 11 apiece. However, the loss dropped their record to 18-3.
