Another exciting Friday night of high school football games is in store for the Magnolia State as we creep closer to the playoffs.
Eight ranked teams in Mississippi are set to clash with one another in yet another loaded slate.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

Top high school football games in Mississippi
No. 12 Clinton at No. 1 Tupelo – Friday, Oct. 25
You are not always what your record says you are, and Clinton has embraced that phrase this year. Despite a 4-3 record, the Arrows have impressive wins over No. 17 Warren Central, No. 2 Brandon, Terry and No. 7 Starkville. Tupelo stayed undefeated with a 27-7 win over No. 20 Germantown on Friday. The Golden Wave will be tested this week by Clinton before heading to No. 7 Starkville next week. The Golden Wave have notable wins over No. 23 Oxford, No. 19 West Point and No. 3 Madison Central.
No. 20 Germantown at No. 3 Madison Central — Friday, Oct. 25
Germantown is 5-3 on the year following a 27-7 loss to No. 1 Tupelo. The Mavericks have lost two straight, having dropped to No. 7 Starkville the week before. Notable wins for Germantown include No. 14 Northwest Rankin and No. 17 Warren Central. Madison Central is 5-2 after handling Murrah 27-6 last weekend. On the season, Madison Central has wins over No. 21 Ocean Springs, No. 15 Gulfport, No. 14 Northwest Rankin and No. 17 Warren Central — and losses to No. 2 Brandon and No. 1 Tupelo.

No. 6 Madison-Ridgeland Academy at No. 4 Jackson Prep — Friday, Oct. 25
Madison-Ridgeland improved to 7-1 after beating Jackson Academy 24-14 on the road. The Patriots have lost to just Pulaski Academy (Ark.) this year while collecting wins against No. 8 Oak Grove and No. 16 Hartfield Academy. Jackson Prep keeps on rolling, now 9-0 on the season after a huge road win at No. 16 Hartfield. The Patriots were the higher-ranked team going in but slight Massey Ratings underdogs. Jackson defeated Hartfield 51-45.
No. 14 Northwest Rankin at No. 8 Oak Grove — Friday, Oct. 25
Northwest Rankin is 6-3 on the year after picking up a ranked win over then-No. 25 Meridiain last Friday. The Cougars have wins over No. 12 Clinton and No. 21 Ocean Springs this season. Oak Grove did not budge in the rankings despite a close 31-27 loss on the road at No. 2 Brandon last Friday.
