Montverde Academy Eagles forward Trent Sisley dunks the ball during the fourth quarter of the City of Palms Classic semifinal game against the Oak Ridge Pioneers at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers, Fla., on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024.

In a battle between two of the top high school basketball programs in the nation, Montverde Academy (Fla.) played a complete game on Friday night and glided past Oak Hill Academy (Va.) for a 78-52 win at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass.

From the jump, Montverde flexed its muscle. It took a 43-21 lead into halftime and never let up from there. Florida four-star shooting guard commit CJ Ingram, Creighton four-star SG commit Hudson Greer, Indiana four-star power forward commit Trent Sisley and star junior four-star SG Kayden Allen all impressed. The Eagles’ loaded roster looked as dominant on the floor as it does on paper.

Greer finished with 14 points and five rebounds. Ingram did it all, compiling 14 points, three boards, three assists and two steals. Sisley had 13, while Allen led the way with 16 points.

Now 12-2 on the season, Montverde has one of the top résumés in the nation, fitting for their No. 10 ranking in the updated On3 Composite. Oak Hill, now 13-3, entered as the No. 31 team in the nation and has also played multiple nationally-ranked programs already this season.

Both teams will be back in action on Sunday. Oak Hill will take on Brewster Academy (N.H.) early in the day, while Montverde will square off against Utah Prep in primetime.
