After another big weekend of high school football in all 50 states, the latest national top-25 rankings have been updated to reflect those results.

The top 10 teams in the country stayed nearly intact, with some slight up-and-down movement. But elsewhere in rankings, a few new programs have entered.

Below are the top 25 teams in the country heading into the second week of October:

The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Mater Dei (Calif.)

Previous Rank: No. 1
The Monarchs returned to the field after a bye week for a major top-10 California matchup against Santa Margarita Catholic on Friday night, and dispatched the home team 26-10 to remain undefeated. Another huge showdown awaits when they travel to California No. 5 Servite on Friday night.

2. Duncanville (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 2
The Panthers were idle after a 4-0 start, in which they’ve averaged better than 40 points per game. Their biggest test of the season comes Friday night in an enormous Dallas-area showdown with DeSoto.

3. Atascocita (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 4
Atascocita dominated its first five opponents, with no games being decided by fewer than 17 points. Friday night’s game against Texas No. 12 Summer Creek was a different story, but the Eagles were still able to escape with a 42-39 victory on the road. Matchups against Humble and Kingwood are on the slate for the next two weeks before a Texas-sized tilt with North Shore.

4. St. John Bosco (Calif.)

Previous Rank: No. 3
The Braves were projected by the On3 Massey Ratings to have their way against California No. 6 Orange Lutheran and quarterback TJ Lateef on Friday, but the visitors gave Bosco everything they had in a 14-10 defeat. After a slight drop in the rankings, they’ll look to remain undefeated this week against Santa Margarita Catholic.

5. North Shore (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 5
The Mustangs remain undefeated after handling Kingwood 48-21 on Thursday night. They’ll face to back-to-back winless teams in Goose Creek Memorial and Channelview before the massive showdown against Atascocita on Oct. 25.

6. Southlake Carroll (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 6
Southlake Carroll’s offense didn’t miss a beat on Friday despite being without star running back Riley Wormley, who is out for the season with a knee injury. The Dragons are averaging nearly 50 points per game and are not projected to play another ranked team this season.

7. North Crowley (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 7
The undefeated Dallas-area squad easily handled winless Mansfield Legacy 56-0 to move to 5-0 last weekend before a bye this week. Behind a loaded offensive line with multiple Power 4 prospects, the Panthers are averaging 52.2 points per contest as they head to the back half of their schedule. That starts with a 1-4 Lake Ridge squad on Friday.

8. DeSoto (Texas)

Previous Rank: No. 8
Arguably the state’s biggest game of the regular season will go down between DeSoto and state No. 1 Duncanville is an enormous rivalry showdown on Friday. The Eagles offense has been rolling this season, but after the bye, they’ll face by far their biggest challenge to date.

9. Bishop Gorman (Nev.)

Previous Rank: No. 9
The Gaels now fit at 5-1 after blowout wins over state No. 3 Liberty and state No. 7 Foothill, in which they’ve combined to outscore their opponents 99-0. Now they’ll face the No. 2 team in the state, Arbor View, who comes in 6-0.

10. IMG Academy (Fla.)

Previous Rank: No. 10
IMG was slated to face Alabama’s No. 1 team, Phenix City Central, last week but the game was canceled due to Hurricane Helene. They returned to the field on Friday against Florida’s No. 2 team, Venice, and came out victorious in a low-scoring 21-16 affair.
