The 2024-25 girls high school basketball season is underway and On3 has released the latest national rankings.

Two-time defending California state champions Etiwanda headline atop the On3 Composite and is one of four Golden State schools in the top 10. The District of Columbia, as well as 15 other states are also represented in the top 25.

Below are those top 25 high school girls basketball programs, as of Nov. 26, according to the newly released On3 Composite.

The On3 Composite High School Girls Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.

1. Etiwanda (Calif.)

Back-to-back 32-win seasons have ended with Rancho Cucamonga’s Etiwanda defeating Archbishop Mitty for the CIF State championship, and the Eagles are a favorite to hoist even more hardware this season. Led by five-star small forward Grace Knox (LSU signee) and four-star point guard Aliyahna ‘Puff’ Morris (Cal signee), Etiwanda will be a force on both sides of the ball this winter.

2. Bishop McNamara (Md.)

Headlining the three DMV schools in the top 25 is Bishop McNamara. The Mustangs put together a 25-win campaign last season and are one of just three teams to be ranked in the top 10 of all four individual rankings that create the On3 Composite. Georgia small forward commit Zhen Craft is among the players to watch for the District Heights program.

3. Archbishop Mitty (Calif.)

Archbishop Mitty lost just once last season, falling in the CIF State championship to Etiwanda. The Monarchs reeled off 30 consecutive wins prior to the defeat, but have now lost a championship game three seasons in a row. They are once again considered one of the nation’s best this winter, however, and will look to finally get over that hump come March.

4. Sierra Canyon (Calif.)

Much like Archbishop Mitty, Sierra Canyon’s previous two seasons have ended at the hands of Etiwanda. The Trailblazers won the CIF State title in 2022 but have fallen to the Eagles in the semifinals in 2023 and last season. The previous three seasons have seen Sierra Canyon compile a 92-6 record. Junior center Emilia Krstevski will help lead the way in the frontcourt this winter.

5. Hebron Christian Academy (Ga.)

Down in Dacula, Hebron Christian Academy has wasted no time getting to work this season. Now 4-0 after a win over No. 15 IMG Academy (Fla.) on Tuesday, the Lions are firing on all cylinders early behind the four-star tandem of point guard Aubrey Beckham (Georgia signee) and small forward Danielle Osho (Miami signee). Hebron has won back-to-back Georgia 3A State titles, winning 32 games each season.

6. Lawrence Central (Ind.)

Lawrence Central is coming off a 30-1 season that culminated with an Indiana 4A State championship. The Bears are back and are already 5-0 this season. Four-star shooting guard Jaylah Lampley (Mississippi State signee) and her sister, Lola, a junior power forward, will help lead the charge for the Indianapolis program.

7. Bradley Central (Tenn.)

Girls basketball in the state of Tennessee is running through Cleveland, as Bradley Central has now won back-to-back 4A State championships, winning 69 games in the process. The Bears have lost just once in each of their last two campaigns and have begun this season with a trio of wins. Bradley Central is one of just two teams from Tennessee in the top 100 of the On3 Composite.

8. Pewaukee (Wisc.)

Pewaukee got back to the top of the mountain last season, winning the Wisconsin Division 2 title, capping off a 29-1 year. The Pirates kicked off the year with a bang last week, defeating Notre Dame De La Baie, the No. 2 team in the state, 73-54. Senior point guard Amy Terrian will be one of the top contributors for the Milwaukee program.

9. Morris Catholic (N.J.)

New Jersey’s back-to-back Non-Public B State champions reside in Denville. Morris Catholic has compiled an 83-6 record across the last three seasons, with the latter two resulting in a pair of banners. Senior sisters and blue-chip guards Mia and Mya Pauldo (both signed to Tennessee) are an elite duo and will be hard to stop for opposing defenses all winter.

10. Mater Dei (Calif.)

Mater Dei is another top contender in the Golden State and will look to reach that next level this winter to compete with Etiwanda, Archbishop Mitty and Sierra Canyon. The Monarchs went 25-8 last season and 29-4 the year before. Junior small forward Kaeli Wynn will be a top option in Santa Ana.
