National On3 High School Boys Basketball Composite Rankings Top 25 - Jan. 13
The national On3 Composite Rankings have updated following the second weekend of January.
The new top 25 features teams from 13 states and the District of Columbia. Columbus (Fla.) still headlines at No. 1 overall and is one of three teams from the Sunshine State in the mix. California has the most representatives with five, including three of the top 10 overall.
Below is a look at the updated national high school boys basketball top 25, as of Jan. 13:

It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.

1. Columbus (Fla.)
Despite suffering a pair of losses at the Jordan Holiday Classic at the end of 2024, Columbus remains the nation’s No. 1 program with a 14-3 record. Last time out, the Explorers defeated Riviera Prep (Fla.) 61-44. Twin Duke signees Cameron and Cayden Boozer continue to look like future NBA lottery picks, leading their squad to nationally-ranked wins over the likes of IMG Academy (Fla.), Grayson (Ga.) and Montverde Academy (Fla.) thus far.
2. Harvard-Westlake (Calif.)
After a rather cushy start to the season, Harvard-Westlake has continued to look elite as its schedule has gotten tougher. Wins over No. 6 Perry (Ariz.), No. 11 Gonzaga (D.C.) and De La Salle (Calif.) have cemented the Wolverines’ status heading into the back half of the season. Now 18-1 overall, AfHarvard-Westlake is led by Duke small forward signee Nikolas Khamenia and junior shooting guard Joe Sterling.
3. Roosevelt (Calif.)
After taking down Etiwanda 75-51 last time out, Roosevelt is now 21-1 on the season. The Mustangs continue to beat some of the best in and around the Golden State and now own wins over the likes of No. 8 St. John Bosco (Calif.), No. 22 Notre Dame (Calif.), Redondo Union (Calif.) and Riviera Prep (Fla.). Senior five-star combo guard Brayden Burries has played like one of the nation’s top prospects all season.
4. Grayson (Ga.)
Grayson has looked like the clear top team in Georgia to this point, compiling a 15-1 record that includes impressive in-state wins over the likes of Tri-Cities, Milton, Wheeler, McEachern and Newton. The Rams also held their own in the City of Palms Classic last month, picking up a big win over Owasso, the No. 1 team in Oklahoma. Star five-star junior shooting guard Caleb Holt leads the way for the Peach State program.
5. William J. Brennan (Texas)
It’s been a nonstop start to the season for Brennan, which enters this week with a 21-2 record. The Bears won their first 11 games of the year, lost two in a row and have since put together another 10-game winning streak. Top wins include a 3-point triumph over No. 3 Roosevelt and a 5-point win over No. 7 Allen. Senior Houston five-star point guard signee Kingston Flemings is the top guard in the Lone Star State.
6. Perry (Ariz.)
Perry continues to look like the clear top team in Arizona and has now tested itself against other top programs around the country. The Pumas are 15-1, with their lone loss coming to No. 2 Harvard-Westlake. They’ve picked up wins over Central Catholic (Ore.), Corner Canyon (Utah), Duncanville (Texas) and three other top-25 teams in Arizona. Senior Five-Star Plus+ power forward Koa Peat has looked untouchable all season long.
7. Allen (Texas)
After defeating Plano 62-41 last time out, Allen is now 22-1 this season and continues to look like one of the best offensive teams in the nation. The Eagles’ lone defeat came against No. 5 William J. Brennan at the end of November. They’ve since won 15 games in a row, scoring 80 points or more in six of those wins.

8. St. John Bosco (Calif.)
St. John Bosco is now 17-2 after suffering an upset loss at the hands of Mater Dei over the weekend. The Braves convincingly won each of their first 13 games of the season, rolling past the likes of Sunnyslope (Ariz.) and La Mirada (Calif.). A monster out-of-state clash against No. 19 Paul VI Catholic (Va.) awaits this weekend.
9. Hoover (Ala.)
Hoover stands tall entering the back half of January undefeated at 21-0. The Buccaneers have been dominant, already barreling through many of the other top programs in Alabama, including Huffman, Oxford, Vestavia Hills and Oak Mountain. Tennessee four-star center signee Dewayne Brown has been immovable, holding up to his ranking as the top payer in the Yellowhammer State.
10. Montverde Academy (Fla.)
At just 11-2 on the season, Montverde Academy still looks to be a part of the nation’s elite. The Eagles’ lone losses have come to No. 1 Columbus and No. 17 Brewster Academy (N.H.), while they’ve defeated the likes of Long Island Lutheran (N.Y.), Millennium (Ariz.) and Oak Ridge (Fla.). The Montverde roster is loaded with guard talent, from Florida four-star SG signee CJ Ingram, to Creighton four-star SG signee Hudson Greer, to elite junior four-star SG Kayden Allen.
