New Jersey High School Boys Basketball Rankings: On3 Composite Top 25 Teams - February 26

The 2024-25 New Jersey high school boys basketball regular season is winding down. Therefore, the top 25 teams in the New Jersey On3 Composite Ranking are competing to gain momentum for the playoffs. Here’s the latest rating of the state’s best programs, with one squad included in the nationwide top 100.
The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.
1. Bergen Catholic
The Crusaders extended their winning streak to seven games after a 53-50 victory over St. Joseph Regional. Declan Wucherpfennig and Jaden Brown had 15 points each, while Julius Avent added 10. Now at 22-4, Bergen Catholic will have road games against St. Rose and Gill St. Bernard’s to close the 2024-25 New Jersey high school boys basketball regular season.
2. St. Peter’s Prep
The Marauders are on a three-game winning streak after defeating Hudson Catholic 52-40. Mason Santiago scored 18 points, while Richie Rosa contributed 16. They improved their record to 21-4 before starting their playoff run on March 3.
3. Plainfield
After losing to St. Peter’s Prep on February 8, the Cardinals scored victories against Union, Elizabeth, and Roselle Catholic. NaJai Hines had a monster game (16 points, 18 rebounds, four blocks), while Micah Gordon had 18 points. Their record stands at 23-3 before facing Perth Amboy in the North Jersey Section 2 Group 4 playoffs.
4. St. Patrick
After losing to Huntington (West Virginia) and Blair, the Fighting Celtics regained their winning ways by defeating College Achieve. Brandon Lee was fired up, finishing with 39 points, while Kuai Deng and Jaysean Williams combined for 30 points. That victory gave St. Patrick 23 wins for the season.
5. Don Bosco Prep
The Ironmen are still among New Jersey high school boys basketball’s top ten teams despite a 55-52 loss to St. Joseph. Their record stands at 17-8 before starting their playoff run on March 3.
6. Roselle Catholic
While the Lions came up short against Plainfield, Tyrease Hunter had a commendable performance with 21 points. Trevon Lewis had 13 points, six rebounds, and four blocks, while Kahlik Thomas added ten points and six rebounds. Despite the loss, Roselle Catholic still has an impressive 20-6 record before entering the postseason.

7. Gill St. Bernards
The Knights improved to 20-5 after beating Rutgers Prep to win the Somerset County Tournament. Connor Junker led the way with 15 points, while Dorsett Mulcahy added 12. Gill St. Bernard’s will face Bergen Catholic on February 28.
8. Camden
The Panthers dropped a 58-54 decision to Paul VI in the final of the Camden County Tournament. Despite the loss, Torrey Brooks Jr. had 18 points and six assists, while David Munro contributed 17 points and two blocks. Emmanuel Joe-Samuel also scored in double digits with 11 points, to go with three steals. Camden can bounce back by defeating Pennsauken Tech on February 27.
9. The Patrick School
The Patrick School is still among New Jersey high school boys basketball’s top teams despite a recent loss. However, they’ve had some impressive victories including their come-from-behind win over Woodbury.
10. St. Rose
The Purple Rose won the Shore Conference Tournament after a 45-36 victory over Christian Brothers. Jayden Hodge paced St. Rose with 18 points, while Evan Romano added 13. That win improved their record to 19-7 before facing Bergen Catholic.
