New Jersey High School Football Rankings: Top 25 teams - Oct. 21
Following another week of high school football in New Jersey, the On3 Massey Ratings state top 25 have once again shifted.
Rumson-Fair Haven is the lone new entrant in the top 10 following its seventh consecutive victory. Don Bosco Prep is up one spot to No. 4, while Winslow Township now checks in at No. 6.
Below are the updated top 25 teams in the state, as of Oct. 21.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

1. Bergen Catholic
Previous: No. 1
Bergen Catholic continues to cement itself as the top-ranked team in the Garden State, with its latest example coming in the form of a 42-13 road win over top-10 Delbarton. The Crusaders are now 6-1 and continue to own the No. 1 offense and defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. They’ll look to keep things going with a huge clash at No. 3 St. Joseph Regional this weekend.
2. DePaul Catholic
Previous: No. 2
DePaul Catholic came off a bye week and continued to look like an offensive juggernaut over the weekend, rolling past No. 17 St. Peters Prep 54-21 to improve to 7-0 overall. The Spartans now have three ranked in-state wins on their résumé and look to be a clear No. 2 behind Bergen. DePaul now hosts No. 7 Delbarton this week.
3. St. Joseph Regional
Previous: No. 3
St. Joseph got back to its winning ways last week, picking up an impressive 41-14 road win over Pope John XXIII. The Green Knights now own a 5-2 record, with their losses coming against Don Bosco Prep and nationally-ranked St. Frances Academy (Md.). Another chance to pick up a season-defining win awaits this weekend when top-ranked Bergen Catholic heads to Montvale.
4. Don Bosco Prep
Previous: No. 5 (+1)
Don Bosco is looking to put together a late-season winning streak and has now won two games in a row following a 28-0 shutout of Seton Hall Prep over the weekend. The Ironmen are just 4-3 but have a pair of top-10 wins under their belt. They now head to No. 23 Paramus Catholic this Friday.
5. Hun School
Previous: No. 4 (-1)
Hun School is now 7-1 this season after demolishing The Hill School 45-14 last week. The Raiders have played a rigorous scheduled on the road all year and have looked the part offensively, now checking with the state’s No. 3 offense. They now head to St. Thomas More, the No. 3 team in Connecticut, this weekend.
6. Winslow Township
Previous: No. 7 (+1)
Winslow continues to punish opposing defenses this season and is now 8-0 after walloping ranked Mainland Regional 47-24 last week. The Eagles have a top-10 offense and defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. They’re slated to close the regular season at home against Marlton Cherokee this weekend.
7. Delbarton School
Previous: No. 6 (-1)
Delbarton was no match for top-ranked Bergen Catholic last week, falling 42-13 at home. Now 5-2, the Green Wave has a win over the No. 1 team in New York, Iona Prep, as well as a pair of in-state ranked foes. The tough tasks keep coming, as they now head to No. 2 DePaul Catholic this week.

8. Toms River North
Previous: No. 8
Toms River North now hasn’t allowed a point in its last three games, shutting out Toms River South, Howell and now Southern Reg. The 7-0 Mariners haven’t played a stout schedule, but have dominated their competition to this point. Toms River Donovan Catholic is up next later this week.
9. Millville
Previous: No. 9
Millville won its second game in a row over the weekend, taking down Cherokee easily in a 57-14 blowout. The Thunderbolts improved to 6-1 with the win and now have the No. 6 defense in the state, per the Massey Ratings. They now head to No. 14 St. Augustine Prep for another ranked matchup.
10. Rumson-Fair Haven
Previous: No. 11 (+1)
After steamrolling Donovan Catholic 56-32 last week, Rumson-Fair Haven is now in the state top 10 ahead of the final couple of weeks in the regular season. The Bulldogs are now 7-0 with wins over two ranked opponents. They now host 0-7 Colts Neck on Friday evening.
