New Jersey On3 High School Boys Basketball Composite Rankings Top 25 - Feb. 21

With the high school boys basketball playoffs fast approaching, the top 25 teams in the New Jersey On3 Composite Ranking continue to stake their claim among the state’s best. Here’s the latest rating, with one squad in the nationwide top 100.

The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.

1. Bergen Catholic

After losing to Don Bosco Prep last February 4, the Crusaders have embarked on a six-game winning streak. Their last game was a 70-42 domination of Paramus Catholic, wherein Declan Wucherpfennig and Julius Avent scored 18 points apiece. Wucherpfennig added 13 rebounds and three blocks, while Jaden Brown finished with 13 points. The nation’s 73-best team will try to improve their mark to 22-4 with a victory over St. Joseph on February 21.

2. St. Peter’s Prep

The Marauders improved to 20-4 after defeating Dickinson in the Hudson County Tournament semifinal. Richie Rosa led with 25 points, while Mason Santiago completed an overall performance (12 points, ten rebounds, three blocks). Their high school boys basketball season continues against Hudson Catholic in the tournament final on February 22.

3. St. Patrick

After losing to North Carolina’s Winston-Salem Christian, St. Patrick is on a three-game winning streak. They dominated Life Center in the first round of the Prep Open Tournament, 112-41, to improve to 21-4. St. Patrick will face Peddie on February 21 before playing against College Achieve four days later.

4. Plainfield

After losing to St. Peter’s Prep on February 8, Plainfield defeated Union and Elizabeth in the first two rounds of the Union County Tournament. Micah Gordon had 23 points against Elizabeth, while NaJai Hines contributed 16 points and ten rebounds. Meanwhile, Ala-Meen Watkins had a team-high 13 rebounds to go with nine points. Plainfield will face Roselle Catholic in the finals of the Union County Tournament on February 23.

5. Don Bosco Prep

While it was a low-scoring game, the Ironmen still pulled off a 44-40 victory over Linden. Brady Loughlin led Don Bosco Prep with 11 points, Jaylen Lewis added nine, while Brady Brown and JP Skoric added seven points each. Don Bosco Prep will try to earn their 18th victory in this high school boys basketball against St. Joseph.

6. Roselle Catholic

The Lions are on a two-game winning streak after their loss to top-ranked Bergen Catholic. In their 57-46 victory over Union Catholic, Tyrease Hunter had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Kahlik Thomas added 13. Roselle Catholic will face Plainfield in the Union County Tournament final on February 23.

7. Gill St. Bernards

While Gill St. Bernards lost to Patrick School in their last game, Connor Junker had a commendable game with 17 points. They will try to bounce back against Rutgers Prep in the final round of the Somerset County Tournament on February 22.

8. The Patrick School

The Celtics have won 15 of their last 17 games. They will have one more game on the 25th before entering the New Jersey high school boys basketball playoffs.

9. Camden

The Panthers have won back-to-back games after their loss to New York’s Lawrence Woodmere Academy. In their 70-50 win over Camden Eastside, Zion Green had 23 points and ten rebounds, while David Munro had 17 points and 13 rebounds. Torrey Brooks Jr. finished the game with 11 points, 13 assists, and three steals. Camden will proceed to the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 on February 27.

10. St. Rose

The Purple Rose are on a three-game winning streak after defeating Manasquan on February 19. Brian Ebling led the way with 20 points, while Jayden Hodge had 12 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. St. Rose will face Christian Brothers in the final round of the Shore Conference Tournament on February 21.
