Ohio High School Football Rankings

After another packed weekend of games, the Ohio high school football rankings have updated heading into the postseason.

Archbishop Moeller remains the top-ranked team in the Buckeye State while Marion Local moves up to No. 2 after setting an Ohio record with 58 consecutive wins.

The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

Below is the updated Ohio On3 Massey Ratings top 25, as of Oct. 27.

1. Archbishop Moeller

Moeller finished the regular season atop the Ohio high school football rankings with a 9-1 record. The Crusaders defeated Muskegon (Mich.), the No. 25 team in the Mitten State, 52-27 over the weekend. They will host 1-9 Sycamore in the first round of the Division I Region 4 bracket.

2. Marion Local (+2)

Marion Local set an Ohio record with its 58th-straight win on Friday when the Flyers took down rival Coldwater 35-0. Marion Local has not lost since the 2020 postseason and will kick off this round of playoffs at home against Cedarville.

3. Archbishop Hoban (+3)

Hoban finished second in Division II Region 5 with an 8-2 record and the No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The Knights took down St. Edward 24-21 on the road in a Northeast Ohio thriller. Up next is Firestone.

4. Walsh Jesuit (-1)

Walsh Jesuit finished with a perfect regular season record and a resume that includes a win over No. 3 Archbishop Hoban. The Warriors secured the No. 1 seed in Division II Region 5 with a 42-0 win against Padua Franciscan. They will play Willoughby South in the first round.

5. Avon

Avon’s 10-0 regular season ended with a 42-10 win over Avon Lake last Friday. It finished the year without a ranked win but secured the top seed in Division II Region 6 nonetheless. The Eagles will kick off the playoffs against North Olmsted.

6. Massillon Washington (-4)

A 16-7 win over Canton McKinley moved Massillon to a 7-2 record in 2024 and the No. 3 seed in Division II Region 7. The Tigers will open with Licking Heights this weekend. A win against No. 12 St. Edward highlights Massillon’s resume.

7. Anderson

Anderson is the No. 1 team in Division II Region 8 after finishing with a 10-0 record and a 49-23 win this past weekend over Loveland. The Raptors were missing that signature ranked win most of the year until two weeks ago. They went up against No. 15 Winton Woods and came away 31-17 victors. Edgewood is on deck.

8. Lakota West (+2)

Lakota West opened the season with a 17-13 win against No. 9 St. Xavier before falling to No. 19 Princeton two weeks later. Since that loss to Princeton, the Firebirds have rattled off seven consecutive wins — including a 41-0 shutout of Mason last week. Lakota West is the No. 2 seed in Division I Region 4 and is set to play Walnut Hills this week.

9. St. Xavier (-1)

St. Xavier has played a heck of a tough schedule this year. The Bombers have lost to No. 8 Lakota West, No. 1 Moeller and Louisville Trinity (Ky.) — but have beaten Centerville, Indianapolis Cathedral (Ind.), Elder and No. 16 LaSalle. St. X is the No. 6 seed in the region and will play Milford.

10. Toledo Central Catholic (-1)

Central Catholic capped an impressive 9-1 season with a 14-13 nailbiting win over Mona Shores (Mich.) — the No. 7 squad in Michigan. The Irish only lost to No. 1 Detroit Catholic Central (Mich.) this year while picking up wins against Toledo Whitmer and No. 3 De La Salle Collegiate (Mich.). Central Catholic is the top team in Division III Region 10 and will play Lutheran West in the playoffs.
