Oklahoma High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - September 2
The leaves are beginning to change color, the air is growing crisp and the Friday night lights have never shined so bright. Thankfully, there’s no shortage of talent in Oklahoma to soak up the spotlight.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

Four schools from Oklahoma made an appearance in the top 20 of On3’s National High School Football Rankings. However, none were rated higher than the No. 1 team in the state, the Owasso Rams.
1. Owasso
Previous Ranking: 4
Antonio Graham won’t forget his debut as Owasso’s head coach anytime soon. On Friday, he led the Rams to an 40-21 upset over Bixby, which was 4-0 against Owasso the last two seasons. In the win, Owasso junior Tahkari Bethel hauled in two receiving touchdowns and returned a kickoff for a score.
2. Bixby
Previous Ranking: 1
Although Bixby came up short against Owasso on Friday night, it’s impossible to count out the Spartans. Bixby is a six-time state champion program and boasts a surplus of talent this season. With Auburn offensive tackle commit Broderick Shull leading the way, Bixby’s season is far from over.
3. Union
Previous Ranking: 2
On Friday, Union kicked off its season on a high note with an exhilarating 42-35 win in overtime against Bentonville. Senior running back Jordan Schelling scored the game-winning touchdown for the Redhawks to boost the team to a 1-0 start.
4. Jenks
Previous Ranking: 3
On Friday, Jenks burst out of the starting gates with a dominant 48-3 win over Santa Fe. In the win, quarterback Owen Jones completed 17-of-his-25 pass attempts for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Kaydin Jones piled on 187 yards and three scores, as well.
5. Broken Arrow
Previous Ranking: 10
On Friday, Broken Arrow defeated Springdale Har-Ber 42-21. It was a comeback win for the Tigers, who trailed Springdale Har-Ber 21-14 at halftime. Nonetheless, with a few corrections from head coach Josh Blankenship, Broken Arrow came out strong in the second half and put the game away.
6. Norman North
Previous Ranking: 11
Unlike most teams in the area, Norman North has not yet begun its 2024 campaign. However, expectations are high for the Timberwolves. On Friday, they will face off against Norman. The On3 Massey Ratings predict the Timberwolves will escape with a 36-28 victory.

8. Moore
Previous Ranking: 21
Moore made a massive leap in the rankings after defeating Westmoore in convincing 35-3 fashion on Friday. The win was only the Lions’ second against Westmoore in the last 24 season. In the victory, quarterback Malikai Miller threw for 192 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71% of his throws.
9. Stillwater
Previous Ranking: 6
Stillwater also hasn’t played its first game yet but the Pioneers have high hopes for their season. Alas, they aren’t ramping their way up to difficult competition. On Friday, Stillwater will jumpstart its season with a showdown against No. 3 Union.
10. Carl Albert
Previous Ranking: 5
Carl Albert will also play its season opener this week, with a showdown scheduled against Midwest City. The Titans have won two straight Oklahoma state championships and are searching for a third. Oklahoma football commits Trystan Haynes and Trynae Washington will anchor Carl Alberts’ defense.
