Oregon 5-star QB signee Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele named Gatorade Hawaii Football Player of the Year
Following an outstanding senior season of high school football that saw Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele shoot up recruiting boards at some of the nation’s top programs, Sagapolutele has been named the Gatorade Hawaii Football Player of the Year.
The Ewa Beach (Hawaii) James Campbell standout began to see his stock rise nationally after competing at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles over the summer. He was named a top performer at day one of the event by On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power and later committed to Cal at the end of the month.
Sagapolutele then changed directions on National Signing Day, choosing to sign with the Oregon Ducks.
“Being able to get on the phone with Coach Dan Lanning, Coach Will Stein, is actually just really a blessing ’cause Oregon’s been my dream school ever since I was young,” Sagapolutele told ScoopDuck after landing the offer. “It’s just so surreal for me to see how far all my God-given talents have gotten me. Just being able to receive an offer from Oregon—it’s a very surreal moment.”
Sagapolutele threw for 3,404 yards and 46 touchdowns this season. Earlier this year, he became the all-time career passing leader for the state of Hawaii — passing up Aloha State legends like Timmy Chang, McKenzie Milton, Dillion Gabriel and Tua Tagovailoa.

Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele Recruit Profile
The 6-foot-2.5, 200-pound passer is the nation’s No. 50 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
On3 is higher on Sagapolutele than the other major recruiting services. He is a five-star prospect ranked No. 19 overall and No. 4 among quarterbacks in the 2025 On300.
“It’s easy to see why Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele was the top quarterback on the board for Oregon and offensive coordinator Will Stein,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote Wednesday. “Hawaii’s all-time leading passer showed an immense level of skill as a senior at Ewa Beach (Hawaii) James Campbell. Sagapolutele has one of the strongest arms in the cycle. He’s an aggressive downfield passer but is equally as comfortable when working as a distributor in the quick game and off of RPOs. The skill set looks to be a perfect marriage with the Ducks’ offensive scheme.”
