Pennsylvania High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - August 26
High school football is kicked off in the state of Pennsylvania. With no shortage of talent in the Quaker State, it’s a competitive race to the top of the high school ranks.
The On3 Massey Ratings — which were officially used during the BCS era and have generated college high school sports team rankings since 1995 — rank sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule and margin of victory.

Only the highest-ranked team from Pennsylvania landed in the nation’s top 50. However, there is plenty of time left in the season for schools to move their way up the ladder.
1. St. Joseph’s Prep School
Previous Ranking: 1
It’s no surprise to see St. Joseph’s at the top of the Pennsylvania rankings. Since the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) went from four enrollment-based classifications to six in 2016, St. Joseph’s has won six state championships in Class 6A (the largest division). On Saturday, St. Joseph’s will look to begin another dominant run with a season-opening showdown against St. Edward.
2. LaSalle College
Previous Ranking: 8
LaSalle started its season off on the right foot with a blowout 45-7 win over Harrisburg. The win was first-year head coach Brett Gordon‘s first at the helm of LaSalle.

Running back Roman Thompson also found a score on the ground.
