The Prospect (Ill.) football team has been recognized as an Army National Guard Next Greatest Generation Team of the Year, honoring the program’s community service efforts that have left a lasting impact.
Over 205 Prospect athletes have participated in various community service opportunities, including:
–40 athletes led a youth camp, inspiring the next generation through hands-on instruction.
–30 athletes dedicated their summer to a youth program, running conditioning sessions and drills in their free time.
–110 athletes participated in a lift-a-thon, raising funds for the charity of their choice.
–15 athletes contributed to the Family Fuel Up Night at a local elementary school, running drills, exercises, and fun games to engage and motivate young students.
-10 athletes lent their time to work the concession stand at the Flag Football Jamboree.
Prospect has made it a point to give back, and being recognized for its efforts resonates well with head football coach Dan DeBoeuf:
“Winning this award highlights what our program wants to be about, and that’s giving back to our community,” DeBoeuf said. “It is important for our parents, school staff, and all of our players to feel proud of not only our success on the field but more importantly what we do for our community.”
