Report: Georgia high school football programs to receive grants from Atlanta Falcons in 2025
In 2025, each high school football program in the state of Georgia will receive grants from the Atlanta Falcons and the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation to “either support its existing program for the 2025 season or launch a girls’ flag football program,” per WSB-TV.
Additionally, Georgia high schools will receive up to 50 Guardian Caps through a partnership with the NFL Foundation. Guardian Caps are soft, protective helmet covers designed to reduce head injuries. This season, NFL players were cleared to wear Guardian Caps during live games for the first time.
On Wednesday, the state of Georgia finished up its high school football season with the conclusion of the 6A state championship game. Grayson did just enough to slow down the high-powered Carrollton offense and highly-ranked quarterback Julian Lewis, scoring 21 second-half points en route to a 38-24 victory in the Class 6A state title game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
It marks the first title since 2020 and fourth overall since 2011 for Grayson, one of the Peach State’s premier programs. The Rams’ defense, led by 2026 five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson, got after Lewis, sacking him four times and forcing a pair of interceptions and a fumble late in the fourth quarter.
