South Carolina High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 30

As the 2024 South Carolina high school football regular season approaches its final week, the South Carolina On3 Massey Ratings top 25 list as of Oct. 30 has remained relatively steady compared to last week’s list. The teams in the rankings hope for a favorable result before the state tournament commences this month.
The On3 Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory. According to the model, two teams from South Carolina rank inside the nationwide top 100.

1. Dutch Fork
The Silver Foxes remain undefeated after seven games by defeating Lexington on the road. Defeating the Wildcats also marks Dutch Fork’s fifth shutout victory, making them the state’s top defensive team. What’s more impressive is that they’ve surrendered only 17 points throughout the season. The 25th-best team in the nation will proceed with their campaign by visiting River Bluff on Nov. 1.
2. Northwestern
The Trojans maintain their status as the best offensive team in South Carolina high school football by scoring 55 points in their victory over Rock Hill. Finley Polk threw two touchdown passes and rushed for three more scores. Meanwhile, CJ Broughton had 105 receiving yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Northwestern’s defense had 4.5 sacks against the Bearcats. The 30th-best squad in the nation will put their undefeated record on the line against Indian Land on Nov. 1.
3. Irmo
The Yellow Jackets improved to 8-0 after defeating 20th-ranked White Knoll 35-21. After a 14-14 deadlock at halftime, Irmo outscored the Timberwolves 21-7 to remain undefeated. Irmo ranks fourth on offense after scoring at least 34 points each game. The Yellow Jackets will proceed with their season against Chapin on Nov. 1.
4. Spartanburg
The Vikings extended their winning streak to five games by scoring a season-high 58 points against Byrnes. Trey Burke completed two touchdown passes, while Trenton Lynch had 162 rushing yards. Meanwhile, the 14 points scored by Byrnes is only the third time they’ve allowed double digits to an opponent. Next on Spartanburg’s schedule is a trip to Riverside on Nov. 1.
5. Westside
Laurens’s three points are the lowest output allowed by the Rams all season. Meanwhile, scoring at least 40 points in four consecutive games makes them the third-best offense in South Carolina high school football. Westside can improve to 8-0 by defeating Wren on Nov. 1.
6. Gaffney
The Indians’ six-game winning streak ended with a 9-7 defeat against Dorman. Jayvon Gilmore found Jamarcus Smith in the end zone for Gaffney’s lone touchdown. Despite the loss, Gaffney’s defense did its part, finishing with 12 tackles for losses and 52 total tackles. The Indians can bounce back with a victory against Wade Hampton.

7. Summerville
After escaping with a one-point victory over Ashley Ridge, the Green Wave improved to 9-0 by defeating West Ashley 42-14. Jaden Cummings threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns, while Jayven Williams tallied two rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, Jaiden Kelly-Murray had 119 receiving yards and a TD. Summerville will wrap up the 2024 regular season with a road game against Fort Dorchester.
8. South Pointe
The Stallions extended their winning streak to five games via a 58-10 thrashing of Dreher. Cam McMillion dominated the Blue Devils with 240 passing yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Mason Pickett-Hicks had 85 rushing yards and three touchdowns. South Pointe manifested their third-ranked defense in South Carolina high school football by tallying 19 tackles for losses and six sacks. Next on the Stallions’ schedule is a road game versus Richland Northeast.
9. Sumter
The Gamecocks maintained their active winning streak via a 49-20 victory over Blythewood. John Peeples paced Sumter’s offense with 105 rushing yards and four touchdowns, while Jayden Kennedy added 131 receiving yards and a TD. Sumter can improve to 9-0 by defeating Westwood on Nov. 1.
10. T. L. Hanna
The Yellow Jackets improved to 6-2 after winning over Greenville. T. L. Hanna has no problems on offense, as they’ve scored at least 42 points in their last four games. While they are ranked tenth within the state, the Yellow Jackets are ranked fifth on offense. T. L. Hanna will proceed with a road game against Mauldin on the 1st of November.
