Tavien St. Clair wins 2025 Marcus Dupree Player of the Year award
Tavien St. Clair wins the 2025 Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year award. The Hall of Fame’s Board of Governors chose the Ohio State quarterback for his impact and leadership at Bellefontaine High School.
“Tavien St. Clair has proven himself to be one of the most dynamic quarterbacks to ever grace the high school football stage. His remarkable talent and leadership qualities embody the essence of what this award stands for,” As National High School Football Hall of Fame chairman LaMont Robinson said.
In his final year with the Chieftains, St. Clair completed 68 percent of his throws for 2,536 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. Meanwhile, he also generated nine touchdowns and 254 yards from the ground. His numbers helped Bellefontaine finish with a 9-3 record and a state tournament appearance.
Meanwhile, his 99.18 On3 Industry Ranking made him the Ohio Class of 2025’s top-ranked prospect. He was also the fourth-ranked prospect in the nation behind Bryce Underwood, Keelon Russell, and Elijah Griffin. While he went with the Buckeyes, St. Clair also fielded offers from LSU, Michigan, Penn State, and Alabama, among others.

St. Clair’s 2024 output is a solid follow-up for Tavien St. Clair after tallying 3,983 passing yards and 37 touchdowns as a junior.
The official press release states that the Marcus Dupree National High School Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Award “honors the most outstanding high school football player of the year, a player who has not only excelled on the field but also displayed leadership, determination, and a commitment to excellence.” The award was named after the former Oklahoma running back who went on to play in the USFL and the NFL.
Tavien St. Clair will receive the said award during the 2025 induction ceremony on June 14 in Canton, Ohio. This distinction should boost his confidence in competing against Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz for the starting quarterback role at Ohio State.
