Tennessee High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - October 14th
With many teams on a bye week for fall break, On3’s Massey Ratings didn’t see too many shifts to its Top-25 in the state of Tennessee.
The ratings saw only one shift within the top-ten and only one new team join that portion of it. Then, amongst some changes in the back half, just one new team joined the Top-25 at the final overall spot at No. 25.
Here’s how On3’s Massey Ratings rank the teams in Tennessee per the latest update earlier today:
1. Baylor School
Previous Ranking: 1
The Baylor School remained at No. 1 despite having the week off. The Red Raiders are still carrying the momentum from their last two games, though, after two top-ten wins at the time by one point over Brentwood Academy and by 32 over McCallie School. They’ll now return to action this week against St. Pius X (MO).
2. Oakland
Previous Ranking: 2
Oakland also stayed at No. 2 after their idle week. The Patriots enter the final portion of their schedule after two big wins on the scoreboard too by 60 over Rockvale and then 35 against Siegel. They’ll play for another big win this week against Coffee County Central before two matchups to end their season against competition that’s currently in the Top-15.
3. Ensworth
Previous Ranking: 3
Ensworth did play last week with a 24-7 win over Father Ryan to remain at No. 3 in On3’s Massey Ratings. After being down at 7-3 at halftime, the Tigers outscored the Fighting Irish by 21 with a second-half shutout. They’re now at 8-0 for the first time in over a decade as they enter their own week off before their final two games of the regular season.
4. Maryville
Previous Ranking: 5
Maryville had the week off but still managed to move up a spot to No. 4. That comes after handling business over the last month with four more wins, three of which came on the road against teams in the Top-35. The Rebels will return to the field this week for a game against Cleveland before a highly-rated matchup the week after when they host Alcoa.
5. Christ Presbyterian Academy
Previous Ranking: 4
Despite a 34-6 win over Antioch last week, Christ Presbyterian Academy moved down a spot to round out the top-five. QB Hutson Chance had a four-score outing, three in passing and one rushing, as part of the 28-point win. CPA has now won 20 consecutive games going into their bye week before what’s currently a Top-10 matchup between them and FRA.
6. McCallie School
Previous Ranking: 6
McCallie School stayed at No. 6 in On3’s Massey Ratings after their week off. They’ll return to the field following their second loss of the season at 44-12 against the top-ranked team in the state in the Red Raiders. With that, the Blue Tornadoes have three games left starting off with this week, including two against opponents presently in the Top-25.
