When you think of Pennsylvania high school football, St. Joseph’s Prep is currently at the top of the totem pole. The Philadelphia power has now won three consecutive 6A state titles and is a nine-time champ overall.

The Hawks finished last season as the No. 27 team in the nation and the No. 1 team in Pennsylvania, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. Expectations are St. Joseph’s will once again reign atop its competition in 2025.

Last week, the Hawks released their upcoming schedule for this fall. Each of their first four games will come against top out-of-state programs, three of which finished as top-20 teams in the nation a season ago.

The season will open in the Sunshine State on Aug. 22 against American Heritage as a part of the Broward County Classic. The Patriots finished 2024 as the No. 18 team in the nation and will once again be led by Texas five-star quarterback commit Dia Bell.

The Hawks then stay on the road for the first of three games against some of Maryland’s top teams. They’ll take on DeMatha Catholic on Aug. 30 before returning home to welcome St. Frances Academy and Good Counsel in September.

Five in-state games round out the regular season. Three of the Keystone State opponents on the docket finished 2024 as top-10 teams in the state: La Salle, Roman Catholic and Monsignor Bonner.

St. Joseph’s has plenty of production to replace on both sides of the ball this fall. Last year’s team featured five Power Four signees: Four-star linebacker Anthony Sacca (Notre Dame), four-star LB Cam Smith (Penn State), three-star defensive lineman Maxwell Roy (Ohio State), three-star running back Isaiah West (Ohio State) and three-star interior offensive lineman Khalil Stewart (Syracuse).

This year’s roster already features another Penn State commit in three-star DL Alex Haskell. A familiar name to know is entering his sophomore campaign in wide receiver Jett Harrison, the younger brother of former Ohio State star and current Arizona Cardinals WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
