Top 25 high school football players in Louisiana
High school football in the Bayou State is just about set to kick off its 2024 season, and some of the best players in America will play their football in Louisiana.
This season is set to feature multiple top-100 prospects across the 2025 and 2026 recruiting classes.
Below are the top 25 football players in the state of Louisiana, based on the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
1. (2026) DL Jahkeem Stewart — 97.98
School: St. Augustine
The nation’s top-rated defensive lineman in the 2026 class, Jahkeem Stewart is the No. 4 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 Industry Ranking. Stewart registered 20 sacks in his sophomore season. St. Augustine finished last season with a 4-8 record, dropping its second-round postseason game to John Curtis 49-42. The Purple Knights will open 2024 on the road against McDonogh 35.
2. (2026) IOL Lamar Brown — 97.17
School: University Lab
Starring as both an offensive and defensive lineman for University Lab, Lamar Brown is versatile on both sides of the ball. The Cubs went 11-2 in 2023, falling in the Division III Select state semifinal to St. Charles. Brown is a five-star prospect ranked No. 5 nationally and top among interior offensive linemen in the junior class.
3. RB Harlem Berry — 96.72
School: St. Martin’s Episcopal School
Harlem Berry was selected as the Allstate Sugar Bowl’s Outstanding Male Amateur Athlete of the Year for the New Orleans area in 2023. He put together a phenomenal junior season for St. Martin’s, racking up 2,080 yards on the ground for 37 touchdowns. Berry added 410 yards and seven scores through the air. Per the Sugar Bowl, Berry has accounted for 7,285 total yards and 114 touchdowns in three seasons with the Saints. Berry is committed to LSU.
4. (2026) DB Blaine Bradford — 95.03
School: Baton Rouge Catholic
Junior Blaine Bradford will be a staple of Baton Rouge Catholic’s defensive secondary this season as the Bears look to repeat as Division I Select state champions this season. Catholic went 11-2 last year, finishing off with a state title win over Acadiana.
5. IOL Devin Harper — 93.53
School: Calvary Baptist Academy
Devin Harper is a four-star prospect ranked in the top 100 nationwide in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. Harper chose to stick with the in-state program when he committed to LSU on Jan. 30. Calvary Baptist ran a perfect 14-0 season in 2023, culminating in a Division III Select state championship win over St. Charles. The Cavaliers will open against West Monroe on Friday.
6. CB Jaboree Antoine — 93.3
School: Westgate
A onetime pledge to in-state LSU, Jaboree Antoine switched directions and committed to Miami on July 20. Antoine is a top-100 recruit and No. 10 at his position in the 2025 cycle. Playing in just five games due to injury, Antoine accounted for 32 tackles, five interceptions and 11 pass breakups as a junior for Westgate.
7. (2026) OT Brysten Martinez — 93.09
School: East Ascension
Brysten Martinez is a top-50 recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, ranking No. 7 among offensive tackles. East Ascension struggled last season, finishing 3-7 and failing to make the postseason. The Spartans will look to improve this year and kick off their campaign Aug. 29 against Baton Rouge Central.

8. (2026) DB Aiden Hall — 92.91
School: Edna Karr
Two players in the 2026 Louisiana top 10 have already announced their college decisions — both to LSU. Aiden Hall is one of those two prospects. The No. 51 national recruit in the 2026 On300, Hall is also On3’s No. 5 safety. Edna Karr finished with a 10-2 record and a 30-24 state semifinal loss to Acadiana. The Cougars’ new season starts on Thursday at East St. John.
9. (2026) WR Jabari Mack — 92.39
School: Destrehan
Jabari Mack led Destrehan in receiving yards last season as the Wildcats finished 11-1 with a quarterfinal loss to Zachary, breaking a 25-game winning streak. The ‘Cats will take on Lutcher on the road Aug. 30 to kick off their 2024 season.
10. RB James Simon — 92.35
School: Calvary Baptist Academy
James Simon, the No. 6 running back in the 2025 class, has been committed to Texas since May 29. Simon has recorded back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons, going for over 1,600 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground as a junior. Simon will have the benefit of running behind star offensive lineman Devin Harper as he looks to hit 1,000 yards once again.
