One of the top young arms in Georgia high school football is transferring ahead of his junior season.

On Monday, Najeh Wilkins of SCORE Atlanta reported that North Cobb Christian‘s Teddy Jarrard will play next season at nearby North Cobb, one of the top programs in the Peach State.

Jarrard recently finished off a sophomore campaign where he threw for 2,647 yards and 34 touchdowns while completing 72 percent of his passes for NCC. He led the Eagles to an 11-2 record and a state semifinal appearance in the Class AA playoffs.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder holds more than a dozen Division I offers already, including the likes of Virginia Tech, Auburn, Wisconsin, Miami and Duke. He recently received an offer from the Hurricanes and looks to be a major rising prospect in as he enters his junior campaign next fall.

“It was kind of expected after Coach Dawson came out and watched me throw a couple of weeks prior,” Jarrard told CaneSport of his recent offer. “He says he looks for pure passers, and I’m one of them, and after that he wants me to go down there during the springtime, and I’m looking forward to checking Miami out and getting to know the place.”

North Cobb add signal-caller to talented roster

Jarrard joins a North Cobb program that has been among the state’s best at multiple points over the past decade. The Warriors finished No. 12 in the final Georgia Composite High School Football Rankings this past season after an 11-1 season that ended with a loss to Douglas County in the second round of the 6A state playoffs.

They return one of the state’s top offensive lineman in four-star prospect Brandon Anderson and should be primed for another playoff run with Jarrard at the helm of their offense. The Eagles, meanwhile, will be looking for the next man up to lead a team hoping to make a run at a state title.

“North Cobb Christian is super important to us. It was a big part of the healing for our family when Teddy’s cousin passed away,” his father told SCORE Atlanta. “The program will be a great opportunity for anyone looking to get on the field.  The coaching is first-class. When we first got there, it was Matt‘s second year as head coach and they were 2-8 I think,” said Jerry Jarrard. “He probably had 20 people on the team. This past year there were around 80 kids in the program. He and Coach Varner (offensive coordinator) have been like second dads to Teddy and all my kids. That doesn’t even include the magical season they had this past year with such incredible memories.”
