Looking at some of the Florida high school football schedules that have been released so far, the trend is teams are looking to play the best around. The Vero Beach Fighting Indians unveiled its 2025 schedule on Wednesday and the Treasure Coast area team doesn’t miss competition whatsoever on a week-to-week basis.

Announced via its social handles, Vero Beach disclosed its fall slate of regular season games and the Fighting Indians will take on some of the state’s top teams, from North to South.

A game that jumps out right out of the gates, which won’t count towards their regular season record, is Vero Beach’s kickoff classic against Miami Norland. The contest against the Vikings will be apart of the first annual Treasure Coast Kickoff Classic, hosted by Vero Beach.

The classic to be held at the Citrus Bowl, will also feature another intriguing Sunshine State clash between 9-time state champion Lakeland Dreadnaughts and the 8-time state champ Miami Northwestern Bulls, who are coming off winning a Class 3A title in 2024.

Vero Beach’s regular season slate begins against 2024 Class 3A state semifinalist Eau Gallie Commodores before they hit the road in Week 2 and take on Class 5A state semifinalist Gainesville Buchholz.

The following week brings one of the Treasure/Space Coast’s top games of the season when the Fighting Indians welcome 7-time state champion Cocoa Tigers into town.

Other notables games the rest of the season include a Oct. 3rd home date versus Miami Booker T. Washington and then Rockledge the following week on Oct. 10th. Vero Beach’s final two roads games come against 6-time state champion Pahokee on Oct. 17th and a road tilt against regional foe Treasure Coast on Oct. 24th.

All eyes will be on Vero Beach this season as they feature one of the top Class of 2028 signal callers in Champ ‘Wonderful’ Monds. Monds is coming off a strong freshman campaign for the Indians, throwing for 2,234 yards and 23 touchdowns.
