West Boca Raton won the Florida high school football Class 6A state championship against Osceola, 26-7. The Bulls’ calling card was their defense, which limited the Kowboys to zero passing completions.

Meanwhile, Mark Hanniford’s two receiving touchdowns in the second half became the difference-maker for the Bulls. In the third quarter, quarterback Mason Mallory connected with Hanniford for a 47-yard touchdown.

Hanniford’s tenth touchdown of the season extended West Boca Raton’s lead to 11, 18-7. The junior wideout’s second touchdown went for 93 yards and kept the game out of Osceola’s reach in the fourth quarter. Earlier in the game, the Bulls scored first after Kyle Andrews caught a 61-yard touchdown pass from Mallory.

Osceola put up some fight in the first half after Taevion Swint scored on a one-yard touchdown run. Adrian Gonzalez’s successful point after making the count 10-7. The Kowboys had another opportunity to put more points on the board after a Ja’mario Bradford interception. Unfortunately, those were the only points they would score in the game.
