Wide Receiver Room of Arizona High School Football Team Features Sons of Former NFL Players

There’s an Arizona high school football team that can pass as a junior NFL team. Brophy College Prep can be considered an All-Star squad because their wide receivers are sons of former NFL players.

As A To Z Sports NFL Draft and college football analyst Ryan Roberts pointed out, the Broncos’ wideout room features some popular names. There’s Donovan McNabb Jr., son of the quarterback who played in 13 NFL seasons and earned six Pro Bowl selections. The sophomore wide receiver had nine catches for 83 yards and a touchdown for Brophy Prep.

Meanwhile, Devin Fitzgerald is a junior at Brophy Prep, and he has massive shoes to fill as Larry Fitzgerald’s son. The younger Fitzgerald had 52 catches for 720 yards and nine touchdowns in the 2024 Arizona high school football season. His football talent is unsurprising, given that his father is a three-time All-Pro and an 11-time Pro Bowler. The former Arizona Cardinals standout also has commendable character, as proven by his 2016 Walter Payton Man of the Year award.

Likewise, Daylen Sharper plays varsity football and basketball for Brophy Prep. In the gridiron, he’s one of the Broncos’ go-to guys, as shown by his 846 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. While he’s playing on offense, his father, Darren Sharper, was a six-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowl defensive back. However, the older Sharper is in prison for rape and drug-related charges.

Also playing for the Broncos are Bastian and Case Vanden Bosch. They play on opposite sides of the ball, with Bastian at linebacker and Case at quarterback. These Arizona high school football players are the sons of Kyle Vanden Bosch, a three-time Pro Bowl defensive end. The Vanden Bosch patriarch has one All-Pro selection in a 12-year career.

The Brophy Prep Broncos finished the 2024 Arizona high school football season with a 10-3 record. Their run ended with a one-point loss to Mountain View in the Arizona Interscholastic Association Conference 6A state semifinals. The Broncos finished the season as the sixth-best team in the Arizona On3 Composite Team Rankings.
