Wisconsin High School Basketball Preseason Rankings - On3 Composite Top 25 Teams
As the 2024-25 Wisconsin high school basketball season is fast approaching, the top 25 teams in the Wisconsin On3 Basketball Composite Rankings have only two goals: first, to win the state championship of their respective division, and second, to defend the state title they won last season. Here’s how the state’s best squads fare before they launch their campaigns.
The On3 Composite High School Basketball Team Ranking is a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected High School media and data companies. It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.
1. De Pere
The Redbirds fell short of their Wisconsin high school basketball Division 1 state championship aspirations. That loss to Arrowhead should motivate Brian Winchester’s crew to exceed that ending. De Pere will start their season against West De Pere on Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST). This season, Zach Kinziger, Pryce Gregorie, and Benjamin Willihnganz will be their go-to guys.
2. Wisconsin Lutheran
The defending Division 2 state champions hope to keep the momentum as a new campaign starts. With Kon Knueppel and Logan Rindfleisch moving on to college, the Vikings will look to Zavier Zens and Isaiah Mellock for guidance. Wisconsin Lutheran will open their season against Brookfield Central on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. CST.
3. Pewaukee
The Pirates’ goal this season is to erase their defeat to Wisconsin Lutheran in the Division 2 state championship game. However, compensating for Nick Janowski’s 30.8-point average could be a challenge. It’s time for Luka Momcilovic, Tyler Tiutczenko, and Karson Osterman to step up and maintain their top-tier status. Pewaukee will open their season against Brown Deer on Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. CST.
4. Arrowhead
The Warhawks’ disappointing end came when they lost to Marquette by 22 points in last season’s Division 1 state title game. However, even with Bennett Basich and Jace Gilbert gone, they will return with a vengeance in 2024-25. Therefore, it’s time for Trey Resch, AJ Ohrmundt, and Blake Basich to shine. Arrowhead will start their season against Kettle Moraine on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. CST.
5. Marquette University
The Hilltoppers will have targets on their backs after being crowned kings of Wisconsin high school basketball Division 1. Jeremiah Johnson will be their new lead guy after Nolan Minessale and T.J. Adams graduate. Marquette will start their 2024-25 campaign against Brookfield Central on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. CST.
6. Neenah
The Rockets lost to Arrowhead during last season’s Division 1 semifinals. They must regroup to make a return on that stage, especially with Brady Corso and Charlie Wunderlich moving on. Luke Jung and Nick Schultz could be their primary weapons this year. Neenah will start their schedule versus Brookfield East on Nov. 27.

7. Kimberly
The Papermakers’ title hopes ended after they lost to Marshfield in the sectional quarterfinals. However, as another season starts, Kimberly should seek guidance from star players Michael Wildes and Landen VanOfferen after their top stars have graduated. Kimberly will start the season against Stevens Point on Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. CST.
8. Dominican
The Knights finished with a 22-4 record last season. However, one of those losses came against Carmen Northwest in the WIAA Regional Final. With Jaiden Martin, Markel Webb, and Derrick Johnson moving on to college, Aaron Womack III, Zaihir Jones, and Kingston Caldwell must take the lead. Dominican will open their 2024-25 campaign against Kingdom Prep Lutheran on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. CST.
9. Hamilton
The Chargers ended their season with a bitter loss to Homestead in the WIAA Regional Final. This year, Asher Haas will step into the role of ace scorer after Aidan Konop graduated. Hamilton will open their 2024-25 Wisconsin high school basketball season against Madison West on Nov. 30.
10. Homestead
The Highlanders suffered a disappointing one-point double overtime loss to De Pere in the Division 1 Sectional Semifinals. They got the other side of the stick after winning against Hamilton by two points. While Tim Franks is gone, Trevor Polite and Tommy O’Hagan will lead the next batch of Highlanders. Homestead will open their season versus Cedarburg on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. CST.
