LOOK: 2022 ACC All-Tournament Team revealed following ACC Championship
The North Carolina Tar Heels made easy work of the N.C. State Wolfpack in the 2022 ACC Tournament Championship. The Heels defeated N.C. State 9-5 thanks to their superstar freshman Vance Honeycutt, who belted two homeruns and had 5 RBIs in the victory. Not surprisingly–he was named ACC Tournament MVP. Check out the list of other players below who made the 2022 ACC All-Tournament Team.
Not surprisingly, North Carolina had the highest number of players named as ACC All-Tournament selections. They had four players make the list: Danny Serretti, Vance Honeycutt, Angel Zarate, and pitcher Brandon Schaeffer. The N.C. State Wolfpack had the second highest number of players earn ACC All-Tournament honors with three. LuJames Groover III, Devonte Brown, and freshman slugger Tommy White all made the list.
It’s been a season of shattering records for White, who recently broke the ACC freshman home run record by blasting his 23rd home run of the season against Wake Forest. That record has stood for 24 years and it was originally set by Florida State’s Chris Diaz in 1998. White also broke the Wolfpack’s single-season home run record earlier this year as well.
Speaking of homeruns, the league broke the homerun record in the 2022 ACC Baseball Tournament over the weekend. The conference bested the mark that was set over a decade ago in 2010.

Pitcher John Michael Bertrand was the lone Notre Dame player to make the ACC All-Tournament team. He guided the Fighting Irish to the ACC Tournament semifinals. In a 5-3 victory over Florida State on Thursday, Bertrand yielded just five hits, one unearned run, walked one batter, and also threw eight strikeouts.
Wake Forest had two players make the All-Tournament team: Brock Wilken and Brendan Tinsman. Both players blasted homeruns in the Demon Deacons’ 16-3 throttling of the Miami Hurricanes two days ago. Tinsman had four RBIs in the blowout victory.
