Ogden (Utah) Weber defensive lineman Aisea Moa decommitted from Utah on Wednesday.

He was the second commit in the class for Utah, originally committing in January.

Moa is a consensus four-star recruit and considered one of the best prospects in the state.

He announced his decommitment on Twitter.

Aisea Moa is the son of Ben Moa, who played for the Utes for two seasons in the early 2000s. Ben Moa scored six touchdowns — three rushing and three receiving — as a senior in 2004.

Where might Aisea Moa go?

Aisea Moa has five FBS offers at the moment: BYU, Colorado State, Oregon State, Utah and Utah State. He also has FCS offers from Brown, Southern Utah and Weber State

It would stand to reason those schools likely have the early edge following his decommitment, but there is plenty of time for other schools to jump into the fray.

Moa told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Wednesday that Oregon State is in the mix.

“They are absolutely an option,” Moa said. “I have talked to them about coming out to a game. We will see how that goes.”

Moa would be a big signing for the Beavers if they can swing it.

What does this mean for Utah?

Aisea Moa’s decommitment is a big loss for Utah, which now has only seven commits for the class of 2022.

Clovis (Calif.) High quarterback Nate Johnson is the highest prospect currently committed to the Utes. Johnson is the No. 197 over recruit in the On300 rankings, which were just updated Tuesday.

That places him as the 14th-best quarterback in the nation.

No other Utah recruits slot inside the top 300.

Interestingly enough, Moa was the only commit from inside the Beehive State. Of the remaining seven recruits, two are from Florida, two are from Texas and there is one of each from Florida, Gerogia and Hawaii.
