2022 four-star Isaac Traudt discusses recruitment, visits
Isaac Traudt, the #1 ranked prospect in the state of Nebraska, has seen five college campuses, four of which were official visits: Creighton (unofficial), Nebraska, Virginia, Michigan State, and North Carolina.
Creighton Unofficial Visit
Traudt’s first trip was just a couple hours down the road to see Creighton University.
“We had a great time,” he said. “The main point of it was to meet all the new staff members that Coach McDermott brought in. And they were all really good guys. They think I have a great opportunity and that I fit their style of play well. One of my AAU teammates has offer from Creighton, Jason Green, so we could potentially end up there.”
Creighton has recently seen tremendous success on the recruiting trail. The Bluejay’s four highest ranked recruits all came within the class of 2021. Additionally, Creighton finished with the 5th ranked recruiting class in 2021, as well.
Nebraska Official Visit
Next, Isaac made his way to the second in-state program, Nebraska.
“Coach Hoiberg and his staff were really good to me,” he said. “They just kind’ve said they’ve never gotten a highly touted recruit to stay in-state and go there…and if I went there, the fan base would be crazy. They think they have a really good thing going for them there and I agree. I’m also pretty good friends with Coach Hoiberg’s son, Sam, who’s walking on there. I talk to him quite a bit.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have also seen recent success on the recruiting trail, landing their first five-star recruit, Bryce McGowens, who will be a freshmen this upcoming season. Isaac also mentioned that his dad’s side of the family are Nebraska football fans.

Virginia Official Visit
Traudt’s third trip was to Charlottesville to see the Virginia Cavaliers.
“We had a good time there too,” he said. “I was with Isaac McKneely (Virginia commit). Coach Bennett and his staff…all great guys. Really nice facilities and really good campus too, pretty historic. They just said that if they got both of us (McKneely), they think they could get back to another national championship.”
Michigan State Official Visit
Eventually, Isaac Traudt made a trip to East Lansing to visit the Spartans.
“That one was great too,” he said. “Jaden Schutt (MSU recruit) was on the visit with us. Pretty similar situation there too. They think if they got us two, and then somebody else, then they could be right up there again in the national champion conversation. Coach Izzo and his staff are really good guys too.”
North Carolina Official Visit
Lastly, Traudt visited the North Carolina Tar Heels.
“They have a great winning tradition,” he said. “Coach Davis said he’s going to have a different style than Coach Williams did. They’re not going to have a traditional two-big system. They’re gonna have a bunch of skilled forwards and give up size for skill, which kind’ve fits my description. And that’s why we’re really intrigued with North Carolina. I talk to Seth Trimble and Will Shaver (North Carolina commits) quite a bit, also.”
In addition, Isaac Traudt is most likely not done with visiting college campus either. The talented 6-9 forward also wants to see Kansas and Gonzaga in either August or September. He also says Texas, Michigan, and UCLA might offer in the near future as well.
