2022 Heisman Trophy Odds updated after four finalists named
The 2022 Heisman Trophy finalists have been named, and the world now knows which athletes will be headed to New York for a chance to receive the biggest individual prize in the sport of college football.
Four quarterbacks will be making the trek, with Caleb Williams of USC, Max Duggan of TCU, Stetson Bennett of Georgia and Ohio State’s CJ Stroud making the cut.
Before we find out who joins one of college football’s most prestigious clubs, here’s how Vegas Insider believes it’ll shake out.
2022 Heisman Trophy Odds, per Vegas Insider:
- QB Caleb Williams, USC Trojans (-1600)
- QB Max Duggan, TCU Horned Frogs (+1600)
- QB Stetson Bennett, Georgia Bulldogs (+3000)
- QB CJ Stroud, Ohio State Buckeyes (+4000)
As you can see, Vegas believes it’s pretty much a done deal that Williams will capture the Heisman Trophy.
The former Oklahoma star turned Trojans must-see attraction has been nothing short of phenomenal throughout 2022. During his first season at Southern California, Williams passed for 4,075 yards and 37 touchdowns to just four interceptions, while rushing for 372 yards and ten touchdowns, as well.
The Trojans may have fallen short of the College Football Playoff, but Williams and company will be taking their talents to the Cotton Bowl, where they’ll look to catapult themselves into another fantastic season in 2023.
Meanwhile, the other three Heisman finalists will be jockeying for a national championship, as Duggan, Bennett and Stroud were all able to lead their squads to the dance.

Duggan’s heroic game-tying drive during the Big 12 Championship may have gained him some votes, as Vegas believes the Horned Frogs quarterback will finish second in the voting.
Bennett may not have the gaudy statistics of his counterparts, he’s been consistently great for Georgia throughout the season, leading them to an undefeated season in 2022.
Finally, Stroud is once again a Heisman finalist, but will likely fall short of the award for the second straight season. Still, it’s an honor to make it this far, and he’ll likely be preparing for the 2023 NFL Draft once the College Football Playoff is over.
As you can see, all four quarterbacks are more than deserving, but it’s truly Caleb Williams’ award to lose in New York this weekend.
