Vegas odds
The Kentucky Derby is one of the most heavily bet events in the United States each year, causing the odds to shift heavily throughout the week and day leading up to the main event. After opening as the favorite during the week, Zandon has now fallen into a tie for the fourth-best odds while Epicenter and Taiba become co-favorites on Saturday morning.
The race already features two scratches, both from horses breaking from the outside of the 22-gate field, which means the bulk of the horses remain side-by-side in the gate.
All odds for the race come courtesy of VegasInsider.com and are accurate as of the time of publish. In addition, the horses are listed in order of gate number, along with their corresponding odds.

More on the Kentucky Derby
The state of the track often determines which horse can claim an advantage, especially without a runaway favorite in the field. That promises to be the case this year with rain in the forecast in Louisville, Kentucky.
Provided the rain does not give way to thunderstorms and impact the race schedule, the betting odds could see big swings as experts switch their money to horses which have experience in the poor conditions. For example, in the multiple sloppy track races run over the past decade in the Kentucky Derby, horses which like to run at the front have not fared well down the stretch.
With so much data available on each horse, jockey and trainer coming into the race and the element of randomness too, many people take other paths to choosing their best bet. Whether you pick the best name or the prettiest horse, there is no wrong approach at the Kentucky Derby.
