2022 NIT bracket revealed by ESPN on Selection Sunday
Just because a team is left out of the NCAA Tournament does not mean their season is over. The NIT is the secondary college basketball competition in the month of March, with ESPN announcing the 32 team field on Selection Sunday.
There is only one way to guarantee a spot in the NIT — winning your conference championship during the regular season. From there, at large bids for teams on the wrong side of the NCAA Tournament bubble get added into the field. Split up into four regions, games will be played at the home of the higher seed until the semifinals. From there, four teams will travel to Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Here is the full bracket.

An interesting note from the broadcast, Dayton will not be able to play their opening game at home, thanks to the NCAA Tournament hosting the First Four. Toledo will instead get the game, looking to pull off the upset on their home court.
NIT games will begin on March 15, with games being broadcasted across the various ESPN channels. The final will be played at Madison Square Garden on March 31.
