In the second semifinal of the SEC Tournament, Tennessee won 69-62 over Kentucky, setting up a matchup with Texas A&M in the SEC Championship game on Sunday. The Volunteers jumped ahead early in one of the weekend’s most anticipated matchups and never looked back.

Tennessee stormed ahead behind 19 points from Kennedy Chandler and 10 points from Josiah-Jordan James. Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe, the SEC Player of the Year, dealt with early foul trouble but fought back in the second half before picking up his fifth. Kentucky was led by Keion Brooks with 19 points and TyTy Washington with 17 points, but now awaits their seeding decision from the NCAA Tournament committee tomorrow on Selection Sunday.

The SEC still has multiple bids waiting to hear whether or not their names will be called on Selection Sunday, and On3’s latest Bracketology projects it to be a six-bid league in this year’s tournament, but there could be more based on how the selection committee evaluates some of the lower-seeded teams left in the tournament, and if they can pull off any upsets on Friday and beyond. The Aggies figure to be one of those teams vying for a spot, and their recent streak of upset wins gives them a decent shot of making it.

Arkansas limped their way through the first half thanks to JD Notae’s three first half fouls and found themselves trailing 36-24 after the first 20 minutes of action. Arkansas cut the lead to three by the under-12 timeout, but the Aggies jolted their lead back to double-digits just three minutes later and led by as much as 22 in the second half.

Quenton Jackson scored 20 points to go with 6 assists and 5 rebounds while Henry Coleman and Tyrese Radford combined for 21 points. Hassan Diarra scored 12 points off the bench as well. Notae finished with just five points amid his foul trouble.
