Dalton Knecht has been named the SEC Player of the Year after leading the Vols to the SEC title. Lamont Paris is the SEC Coach of the Year after taking the Gamecocks from being picked to finish last in the league in the preseason to finishing tied for second in the league.

In addition, Reed Sheppard of Kentucky has been named the SEC Freshman of the Year, Rob Dillingham of Kentucky was named the Sixth Man of the Year, Zakai Zeigler of Tennessee was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Sean East II of Missouri was named the Scholar Athlete of the Year.

With the regular season wrapped up, SEC teams are turning their attention to the postseason. The SEC Tournament gets underway on Wednesday, March 13 with first-round action.

In the opening two games, Arkansas and Vanderbilt will face off, while Missouri will play Georgia.

Several other teams will get underway on Thursday with Mississippi State playing LSU and Ole Miss facing Texas A&M. South Carolina and Florida will also get underway on Thursday, facing the winners of Wednesday’s games.

The top four seeds in the tournament received a double bye. Those four teams are No. 1 seed Tennessee, No. 2 seed Kentucky, No. 3 seed Alabama and No. 4 seed Auburn.
