2023 4-star Cole Martin announcing commitment New Year's Day
Chandler (Ari.) Basha four-star cornerback Cole Martin will announce his college decision Saturday.
He confirmed the news Tuesday, tweeting out the ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. EST/Noon MT and will be broadcast live on CBS Sports.
He has previously hinted at a potential commitment Dec. 9. But the day before, he tweeted that he would be making his announcement New Year’s Day.
“First and foremost I would like to thank God for all that he has blessed me with; a loving family, roof over my head, and the major surrounding influences,” Cole Martin said Dec. 8. “I will be announcing my commitment on January 1st. I have dreamt of this moment my whole life. This decision wouldn’t have been possible without meeting the people I’ve met and building the bonds and relationships that I’ve built.”
Martin is the No. 115 overall player and No. 12 cornerback in the nation, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the second highest rated prospect from the Copper State behind just Phoenix Pinnacle four-star tight end Duce Robinson. Robinson is also ranked by the On3 Consensus as the top tight end in the nation.
Martin visited Arizona State, Colorado, UCLA and USC during the season. Those four schools are thought to be near the top of Martin’s list.
But one school has risen on Martin’s radar in recent weeks, as Oregon and new head coach Dan Lanning have reportedly been doing a good job recruiting Cole Martin in recent weeks.
