Dante Moore is the top quarterback in the Midwest in the 2023 recruiting cycle and a target for schools across the country.

He was one of many key recruits in Columbus, Ohio, for Ohio State‘s victory over Penn State on Saturday.

Moore posted photos on Twitter from the game on Sunday with Buckeyes stars C.J. Stroud and Chris Olave.

Stroud finished the game completing 22 of his 34 passes for 305 yards and a touchdown. That touchdown was thrown to Olave, who finished with three catches for 44 yards.

Dante Moore is a part of a fascinating QB Class

The 2023 quarterback group has some next-level talent with three five-star quarterbacks in New Orleans Isidore Newman’s Arch Manning, Los Alamitos (Calif.) High’s Malachi Nelson and Downey (Calif.) Warren’s Nico Iamaleava.

Dante Moore is the next highest-ranked quarterback at No. 20 in the 2023 On300 and No. 28 in the On3 Consensus.

“It’s obviously one of the best classes at quarterback that we’ve seen in quite some time,” one SEC recruiter told On3’s Jeremy Crabtree. “But it’s safe to say it’s tremendously tilted toward the top. There are program-changing players with Arch and Malachi. Iamaleava out of California also falls into that category, but there is a pretty big drop off after that point.”

Whether the drop starts with Iamaleava or Moore depends on the person. No other quaterback recruit ranks inside the top 65 of the On300.

From a recruiting perspective, he is going to a major player over the next year. Nelson has already committed to Oklahoma and Manning has an established top five of Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss and Texas. Iamaleava’s list stretches across the country, but Crabtree reports experts believe he will stay close to his Southern California home.

If those three things hold true, that leaves Dante Moore as the top quarterback considering the powerhouse programs of the Big Ten.

Michigan has already made him its top quarterback target in the 2023 class, and Jim Harbaugh has already made a trip out to watch him this fall.

Dante Moore also holds offers from Auburn, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee, among others.
