The field and schedule for the 2023 ACC Baseball Tournament has been set. Wake Forest claimed the No. 1 seed following a 45-9 (22-7 ACC) finish to the regular season and finds itself in Pool A with No. 8 Notre Dame and No. 12 Pittsburgh to start things off.

Virginia (44-11, 19-11) won the Coastal Division to earn the No. 2 overall seed and lead Pool B. No. 3 Clemson and No. 4 Miami round out the top four seeds, leading Pool C and D, respectively.

Taking place from May 23 through May 28, the ACC Baseball Tournament will be held in Durham, North Carolina at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The system in which the conference crowns its champion is slightly different from other major conferences, as the ACC utilizes round-robin pool play during their tournament.

“The top 12 teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season will be seeded No. 1-12 and placed into four groups of three for round-robin pool play,” explained the conference. “The team with the highest winning percentage in each pool will advance to the single-elimination semifinals, the winners of which will compete for the tournament title in the championship game.”

The North Carolina Tar Heels, this year’s No. 7 seed in Pool B, have won two of the last three iterations of the ACC Baseball Tournament, and they’ll be looking to defend their crown. However, many other programs are chomping at the bit, like the Wake Forest Demon Deacons and Virginia Cavaliers, who both have a tremendous shot at winning this season’s event.

Elsewhere, the Clemson Tigers and Miami Hurricanes have enjoyed successful seasons over the last couple of months, and will be tough teams to defeat in the ACC Tournament. Meanwhile, the Duke Blue Devils, who captured glory in the 2021 iteration of the ACC Baseball Tournament, will be looking to continue their strong play, as well.

Time will tell who gets the job done, but exciting times are ahead. You can view the four pools and seeds below. The full schedule is set to be released Sunday.
