With the college basketball regular season coming to a close last week, Vegas has released the odds for the 2023 Big Ten Basketball Tournament. Purdue, which won the regular season conference title, enters as the favorite.

Center Zach Edey, who stands at 7-foot-4 and 290 pounds, has been an unstoppable force for the Boilermakers all season. He finished with averages of 21.9 points, 12.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks. He’ll hope to continue that dominance and lead Purdue to its first conference tournament title since 2009.

After Purdue, Indiana and Michigan State are tied for the second-best odds to win the Big Ten Tournament. The Hoosiers boast the conference’s second-leading scorer behind Edey in Trayce Jackson-Davis, who is averaging 20.5 points per game in addition to 11 rebounds.

Four Big Ten teams still fighting for an NCAA Tournament bid

According to ESPN bracketology expert Joe Lunardi, the Big Ten is projected to get 10 teams in the NCAA Tournament, the most of any conference. However, there are still four schools on the bubble who could benefit from a big performance in the conference tournament.

Rutgers is among the “first four out” in Lunardi’s latest projections. The Scarlet Knights looked like a solid bet to make the NCAA Tournament just a month ago, but ended the regular season losing six of their final eight games. They’ll face Michigan, which Lunardi has in his “next four out,” in the second round on Thursday at noon ET. The Wolverines suffered back-to-back overtime losses at the hands of Illinois and Indiana to close their regular season.

Penn State is likely safe, as it finds itself among Lunardi’s “first four byes.” If the Nittany Lions can notch a win in their opening game against Illinois on Thursday, their chances will look even better.

Finally, Wisconsin enters the conference tournament listed in Lunardi’s “first four out.” The Badgers escaped Minnesota 71-67 in their regular season finale to keep their March Madness hopes alive, but will need a win in the opening game of the Big Ten Tournament against Ohio State at 6:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
