Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside cornerback Daiquan White was sold on Eastern Michigan after his official visit in June.

White took his time, before announcing that he is officially committed to Eastern Michigan. The Eagles made him feel like a priority.

“It was a family-like environment,” White said. “All the coaches and players were genuine. They wanted me, my mom and my dad. My mom asked a lot of questions. One thing that they talked about a lot was family and how if you go there, you’re going to be in this family.”

White has a sense of relief that the recruiting process has been completed. White feels that now his focus can shift toward helping Creekside battle for a state championship. White’s focus is on his development to help Eastern Michigan when he gets on campus in a year.

“It was a long process,” White said. “One thing they’re going to get out of me is a strong work ethic. I’m about business when it comes to football. When I get there, I hope I can make a big impact. I want to win championships.”

White has played in a lot of big events in his high school career. He helped Creekside make multiple playoff runs. He also helped Cam Newton’s 7-on-7 team to a national championship in 2021.

White values those experiences.

“Cam always gives you the real,” White said. “He won’t let you go out on the field and go half speed. Every time you step on the field you have to go 100 percent. That gave me a different mentality.”
