2023 defensive lineman Grant Buckey flips commitment from USC to UCLA

Bakersfield (Calif.) Liberty three-star defensive lineman Grant Buckey has flipped his commitment from USC to UCLA, he announced on Thursday.

Buckey previously committed to the Trojans in June over offers from both UCLA and Cal.

“I’m excited to announce after careful consideration I will be flipping my commitment to UCLA!” Buckey wrote on Twitter. “Cant wait to see what the future holds! GO BRUINS”

He ranks as the nation’s No. 57 defensive lineman and the No. 39 senior recruit in the state of California.

His flip drops the Trojans to 19 overall commitments in the 2023 cycle, with the Trojans’ class remaining at No. 14 nationally in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
