Four-star defensive lineman Kelby Collins of Gardendale, AL has narrowed his list to eight schools- Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and South Carolina.

Collins elaborated more on each of the contenders.

Alabama

“I grew up an Alabama fan and when I took my first visit it was amazing,” Collins said. “I connected with my position coach and all of the other staff members off the rip and I feel like I can fit in the way they run their defense.”

Auburn

“I love the way their defensive line coach has a plan for me, if I were to choose to go there,” Collins said. “I love how close everything is to home and how they take care of their players.”

Clemson

“When I got up there for my first visit, I knew something was special about it,” Collins said. “From how all the coaches handle themselves and how they use God in everything they do. Also everything is close to campus, which is a plus.”

Texas A&M

“I love the defense they run,” Collins said. “They have always been a powerhouse for defensive linemen.”

Florida

“I feel like I fit in the most in their defensive system,” Collins said. “I am very close to a couple of the coaches, especially my position coach.”

Georgia

“I’m close to mostly everyone there, especially my position coach and most of the defensive staff,” Collins said. “With the defense that the defensive coordinator and Coach (Kirby) Smart run, I feel like I can fit very well with what they run up front.”

Texas

“I like what they run and the new staff over there is great,” Collins said. “The history of the program runs deep, and I like the defensive scheme they run. Also, them going to the SEC soon is a plus as well.”

South Carolina

“One of my favorite defensive ends went there, and they have continued to put defensive ends in the league every year,” Collins said. “I feel like their coaching staff is amazing.
