As the college basketball season is coming to a close, conferences are preparing for their conference tournaments. The Pac-12 is, obviously, included in this. So, with a little help from playoffstatus.com, here is a look at the current Pac-12 standings, the tournament schedule, upcoming games, and more.

Current Pac-12 standings

So, first, let’s take a look at the current Pac-12 basketball standings:

  1. UCLA, 24-4 (15-2)
  2. Arizona, 24-4 (13-4)
  3. USC, 20-8 (12-5)
  4. Arizona State, 19-9 (10-7)
  5. Utah, 17-12 (10-8)
  6. Oregon, 15-13 (9-8)
  7. Washington State, 14-15 (9-9)
  8. Washington, 16-13 (8-10)
  9. Colorado, 15-14 (7-11)
  10. Stanford, 11-17 (5-12)
  11. Oregon State, 10-18 (4-13)
  12. California, 3-25 (2-15)

UCLA and Arizona have led the Pac-12 throughout this season. Now, it seems almost certain that UCLA is going to finish in first place with Arizona likely finishing second. However, USC and Arizona State both still have a slight shot at the second seed. In the unlikely event that the Bruins collapse and don’t take the top spot, only Arizona and USC could potentially catch them.

Right now, UCLA’s magic number is two for that top spot. Nobody else controls its own destiny for the one-seed. However, the Wildcats do control their own destiny for the two-seed, where they have a magic number of two.

California has, clearly, had an incredibly difficult season, sitting at 2-15 in conference play. However, they’re not alone at the bottom. Both Oregon State and Stanford have also had frustrating seasons in Pac-12 play. At best, Cal could pass Oregon State to finish 11th. However, they would need help from the Beavers to do that.
