2023 Women's College World Series bracket, schedule set
With Super Regionals play wrapping up, the bracket for the 2023 Women’s College World Series is now set. The eight remaining teams are set to begin play on Thursday at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City as one will be crowned national champion by June 9.
The Women’s College World Series is a double-elimination format. The final two teams then play a best-of-three series for the national championship.
Oklahoma is a familiar face at the WCWS, making its seventh straight appearance. The Sooners have claimed the last two national championships and are the favorite to win their third in a row. They defeated Clemson 8-7 on Saturday to win the Super Regional, also breaking the NCAA record for most wins in a row in the process as they notched their 48th straight.
The Sooners’ in-state rival, Oklahoma State, is back in the WCWS for a fourth year in a row after a pair of dominant wins against Oregon in Super Regionals. Elsewhere in the bracket, Stanford is making its first WCWS appearance since 2004 and just the third in school history. The Cardinal swept Duke in Super Regional play, advancing with a 7-2 victory on Saturday.
