2024 4-star RB Jerrick Gibson decommits from Florida

Gainesville (Fla.) Mundy’s Mill four-star running back Jerrick Gibson has decommitted from Florida.

“First of all I would like to thank Coach (Dan) Mullen and Coach (Greg) Knox for blessing me with my first D1 offer and opportunity to play for the Florida Gators.With that being said I’ve decided to (decommit) from the University of Florida. Please respect my decision,” Gibson tweeted.

He originally committed to the Gators on July 30, 2021.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Gibson as the No. 21 overall prospect, No. 5 prospect in the state of Florida. the No. 2 running back in the 2024 cycle.

The only running back ranked ahead of him is Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star running back Stacy Gage.

On3 does not rank high school sophomores during their fall seasons but does hand out grades. Gibson received a grade of a 90 in On3’s initial watchlist.
