2024 ACC Baseball Tournament Day 5: Results, schedule, updated bracket
The 2024 ACC Baseball Tournament semifinals are taking place Saturday with No. 5 seed Florida State facing No. 8 seed Wake Forest in the first game of the day, ahead of the matchup between No. 6 Duke and No. 11 Miami in the night game.
In the first game on Saturday, the Florida State Seminoles took care of business against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons with a 9-6 win. It’s the first time FSU has advanced to the ACC Championship Game since 2018. Seminoles Left fielder Max Williams had a sensational day, he went 3-for-5 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs. The FSU bullpen had a great day, holding Wake to just six runs on eight hits.
In the second game on Saturday, the Miami Hurricanes were in charge for much of the game with a 2-0 lead through five innings. But the Duke offense got rolling and in a big way in the bottom of the eighth. They put up six runs, giving them an 8-2 lead they wouldn’t relinquish the rest of the way. Devin Obee and Alex Stone both launched two-run home runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach for Duke. The Blue Devils advanced to their second ACC Tournament Championship Game in school history.
Duke and Florida State will clash on Sunday for the championship. That one is slated for noon on ESPN2.
