After falling behind early 3-0, the Wildcats took control of the game in the 4th inning with seven runs of their own. Each team would add one more run apiece to make the final score 8-4. Up next for Kansas State is the loser of Game 6 between Oklahoma and TCU.

Game 3 on Wednesday saw the Cincinnati Bearcats take down the Texas Longhorns and their first and likely only contest as Big 12 foes. Then, both teams exploded, scoring four runs apiece in the next frame to give Cincinnati the 8-7 victory after both teams went scoreless in the ninth. In the final game of the night, the No. 2 seed Oklahoma State took care of business against the No. 10 seeded Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Cowboys dominated both offensively and defensively, allowing just two runs on six hits while picking up seven runs on eight hits for the 7-2 victory.
