Over the summer, Jeremiah Lowe was on the road. Not for official visits in June, but taking part in camps. The three-star cornerback out of Lexington (Ky.) Frederick Douglas spent time at Cincinnati, Kentucky and Marshall a couple of months ago. While on those campuses, he had Michigan on his mind.

Lowe was offered by the Wolverines in June a year ago. Steve Clinkscale stayed in touch, but in recent months, the defensive backs coach in Ann Arbor turned it up a notch.

On Thursday, Lowe revealed his decision.

“I committed to Michigan over Kentucky and Marshall,” Lowe told On3. “Michigan has always recruited me, but they really started showing a lot more interest the last couple of months. I started talking to Coach Clink more and he showed me a lot of attention, then at the bar-b-que in July, I made my decision.”

Lowe was at the same bar-b-que last summer. He then attended the Michigan State game in the fall. Once Michigan picked its recruitment up, the decision was easy for the No. 12 prospect in Kentucky.

“There were no doubts left when I made my decision. Michigan is a great place and I have always enjoyed my time there. It hasn’t even set in yet that I going to a program like Michigan. Michigan is rich in history, it has so much tradition and it still hasn’t set in for me. It is unreal.”

Playing in the Big House is something Lowe is excited about.

“The atmosphere is unreal. I have visited SEC schools and Notre Dame for games, but Michigan’s atmosphere blew those away. It is hard to compare the atmosphere there to anywhere else. It is packed, their fans are loud and it is going to be great to play in that.”

Lowe is Michigan’s 28th commitment this cycle.

For over a year, Coach Clinkscale has recruited Lowe. The two started off chatting about once or twice a month. As the spring of 2023 progressed, it became more like once a week. Coach Clink picked it up, their relationship grew and now Lowe is committed to Michigan.

“I like Coach Clink a lot,” Lowe said. “He keeps it real. He has always been blatantly honest with me and that is what I like most about him. Coach Clink is a cool coach, he is real with his players and that has always been a thing for me with him. He will be exciting to play for.”

Talking to Coach Clinkscale more, then returning to Ann Arbor late last month gave Lowe the feeling he was looking for.

Lowe met a lot of head coaches. He talked to some over the phone, he worked out for many at camps, and Jim Harbaugh is who he wants to play for.

Lowe met a lot of head coaches. He talked to some over the phone, he worked out for many at camps, and Jim Harbaugh is who he wants to play for.

“Coach Harbaugh is 100% different from any other head coach I have met,” Lowe said. “He does things his way, he has his hand in everything, and it might not be normal, but his style is his own and it works.

“I love how he is about the details and the little things. That is why Michigan is at the level it is at. Coach Harbaugh is all about the details and he is running a great program.”
