2024 DB Brayshon Williams continues to add impressive offers
On3’s Chad Simmons wrote in late December that sophomore safety Brayshon Williams of Lakeland (Fla.) Lake Gibson was about to see his recruitment take off. After the last few weeks, it’s safe to say Williams’ recruitment has officially blown up.
That’s especially true after Tuesday’s news that saw Williams add two more major offers from the Michigan Wolverines and West Virginia Mountaineers.
The offers from the Wolverines and Mountaineers were the latest in a string of big-time schools coming after Brayshon Williams in January.
After earlier offers from Miami, South Carolina, USF and Rhode Island, Williams has been offered by USC, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oregon, Kentucky, Florida Atlantic, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Georgia in January. Those offers joined the new ones from Michigan and West Virginia that came in on Tuesday.

“It is exciting getting these offers, and I just have to give God and my coaches thanks,” Williams, who is 5-foot-11 and 170 pounds, said. “My coaches put me in a position to be in the spotlight to get these offers. All these offers have surprised me. The coaches like my film, my work ethic, and my length. I just have to keep working hard.”
Brayshon Williams was at Miami last weekend
Brayshon Williams was also on campus this past weekend for Miami’s Elite Prospects Day.
“They have a great history at producing defensive backs,” Williams said about the Canes.
Williams finished the 2021 season with 30 tackles, eight pass breakups, and four interceptions. Two of the interceptions were returned for touchdowns.
Williams said recently that visits to South Carolina and USF could get scheduled as well.
“South Florida is close to home, so I want to visit there,” he said. “South Carolina’s defensive backs coach is Torrian Gray, and he is from my area (Polk County), so there is that home vibe with him.”
