2024 DB William Nettles commits to Purdue
2024 Dallas Christian (Tex.) defensive back William Nettles committed to Purdue, he announced on the 4th of July. The longtime target for the Mustangs committed over offers from Nebraska, SMU and others.
On3 rates William Nettles as an 89, making him the No. 52 overall cornerback in the nation and No. 68 overall prospect in Texas. According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, he’s the No. 69 overall cornerback in the country and No. 119 prospect in Texas.
Purdue cornerbacks coach Sam Carter had prioritized him in a big way dating back to previous coaching stops.

“It was good,” Nettles told On3 earlier this year. “Good relationships built. Have nice facilities, just a real top place. High on my list. “Love coach Carter. Built a relationship with him and the head coach over there. I have a lot of respect for coach Carter.”
With Nettles, Purdue has 19 commits on board, giving the Boilermakers a Top 25 recruiting class, according to the 2024 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Purdue ranks 24th overall and sixth in the Big Ten. Nettles is the fourth commitment for Purdue from the state of Texas as they continue their push into the Lone Star State.
