2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament Day 4: Results, schedule, updated bracket

The 2024 Pac-12 Baseball Tournament is winding down. The semifinals are taking place Friday, with No. 6 seed Cal facing No. 4 seed USC and No. 8 seed Stanford facing No. 1 seed Arizona.

The two winners will meet in the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament Championship Game, which is set for Saturday at 7 p.m.

In Game 1 on Friday, USC handled California, coming away with a 7-4 win. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Brayden Dowd picked the perfect time to blast his first career home run. Dowd put the Trojans ahead 3-2 with a three-run blast that proved to be the difference in the end. He finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a home run and four RBIs. USC advances to the 2024 Pac-12 Tournament Championship Game.

Cal reached the semifinals by beating Washington and Arizona. USC made the semis by knocking off Utah and Oregon.

As for the other semifinal, Stanford beat Arizona State and Oregon State to reach the semis, while Arizona advanced, despite falling to Cal.

This will be the last Pac-12 Baseball Tournament played as the conference is going away due to conference realignment. Teams would love to have a strong showing in the NCAA Tournament in their final year in the Pac-12.

As for what teams are likely to make it, heading into the conference tournaments, Jonathan Wagner of On3 released his updated projections earlier this week. He has Oregon, Arizona and Oregon State in the tourney, with Cal as one of the first four teams out.

Cal likely helped itself this week. We’ll see if it’s enough to get the Golden Bears into the NCAA Tournament.

With that said, here’s a look at where things stand heading into Championship Saturday at the Pac-12 Baseball Tournament.

The tournament got underway on Tuesday and is finishing up after an entertaining several days.
